What is Quick Export?

Quick Export can quickly export content in .JPG or .PNG format with a minimum of drama.

It can export all content, or only selected content.
It can determine the dimensions of the exported bitmap from the dimensions of the content and the specified resolution, or the user can explicitly specify the width or height.
It has options to control where the exported file is stored, and can automatically create the file name for the exported file by starting with the document name and adding a time stamp.

Using the macro: A few comments.

An export operation is carried out by clicking the Export JPG button or the Export PNG button.
If Selected only is checked, then the macro works with the current selection. If Selected only is not checked, then it works with all content in the active page. The macro only works with content that is printable/exportable (e.g., ignores objects on non-printable layers, and objects that have been individually hidden).
There are two ways of setting the pixel dimensions. If Maintain size is checked, then the size is based on the actual dimensions of the content and on the Resolution setting in the userform. If Maintain size is not checked, then the size is based on the Width and Height values and on the proportions of the content (set either width or height, and the other follows).
If Use Document DPI is checked, then the Resolution is set to match the Rendering Resolution of the document. If Use Document DPI is not checked, then the Resolution can be set manually.

Don't leave the userform visible when you aren't using it.

When the userform is visible, then every time that CorelDRAW fires the SelectionChange event, the macro evaluates the current selection and updates the userform. So, you really don't want to leave the userform visible when you are not busy using it to export bitmaps. Open it, do your exporting, and then close it.

The reason the macro works that way, rather than "once and done", is to make it useful for users who have to perform multiple exports. That might be multiple graphical assets (select, export, select, export, select, export...) or it might be the same graphical asset at multiple sizes (select, set dimension, export, set dimension, export, set dimension, export...).

If you leave the userform visible all the time, then you may observe that the automatic updates of the userform interfere with the normal operation of some CorelDRAW tools.

Using the Comboboxes.

The boxes for numeric entry are comboboxes. The drop-down list for a combobox can contain values stored for convenient access. If a combobox is not locked, then when a value in that
combobox is used by the macro, that value is added to the top of the list. If an existing value is used from the list, then that value is moved to the top of the list. Values can also be manually added to the list.

Ctrl+clicking on a combobox sets that combobox to its default value.

Right-clicking on a combobox brings up a menu of options for managing it.

These options may include:

Setting the combobox to its default value.
Defining the default value for the combobox.
Adding a value to the list.
Deleting a value from the list.
Sorting the list.
Clearing the list.
Locking or unlocking the list. When locked, new values are not added, and the order of values within the list is not changed when an existing value from the list is used.
Enabling or disabling Auto-select for the combobox. When Auto-select is enabled, then the text in the box is automatically selected when the box is entered.

Quick Export Subs in the Macro Manager.

Start_Quick_Export launches the userform if it is not already open.
Toggle_Quick_Export launches the userform if it is not already open, and closes it if it is already open.
Remove_Quick_Export_Registry_Entries removes all Registry entries that have been created by the macro. The next time that the macro is used, these entries will be created again, so this sub can be used to get a “fresh start” with default values and settings.
The macro normally remembers the position of the form on the screen. If the computer display configuration has been changed in such a way that the remembered position is “off the screen”, then Reset_Quick_Export_StartUpPosition can be used to reset the position to “Center Owner”.

Compatibility.

Quick Export was put together in a CorelDRAW X7 environment, and should work in versions X7-2020.

JQ_Quick_Export_Current.zip (most recently updated 2021-07-17).

That includes the .GMS file and a simple icon that can be used on a CorelDRAW Toolbar.
