Hi all,

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Nathan Segal. If you’ve been reading computer graphics magazines or ezines you've probably seen my name. I’ve spent the last 9 years working as an Artist and Writer. I’ve been active as a Digital Artist for 10 years and way back in 1988 I worked as a Camera Operator in what was known as the Multi-Image industry (a precursor to multimedia as it’s known today).

Over the years I’ve published 322 articles and 3 books on the subject of computer graphics and photography. I was the main contributing Writer to Streaming Media World, where I wrote over 111 articles over a 16 month period.

The topics I’ve covered include Software Reviews, Tutorials, Tips and Tricks, Features, Profiles and Investigative Reporting. I create my own illustrations, photographs and screen shots.

As an artist, I make use of whatever is necessary to get the job done. That could involve creating textures with the computer or paint, painting on canvas, photography, 3D/3D computer graphics or all of these options. Since I work back and forth with all these mediums, there's no predicting what I'll do next, which makes it fun.

The Corel PHOTO-PAINT X3 Insider Some of you probably know me from my most recent project, which was to write The Corel PHOTO-PAINT X3 Insider. Briefly, the book contains proven technical information about professional masking tips, web file compression, getting great scans, white balancing, etc. It also shows you how various aspects of PHOTO-PAINTwork, and how to get the best results from the program.

If you have any questions about PHOTO-PAINT, or other aspects of graphics, I'll do my best to answer them here. Other information, such as video tutorials, and other developments will be posted on my new CMS, The Visual Artist. It's a work in progress right now, but I hope to have content posted on it soon. Stay Tuned!!!

Additionally, some of my images will be posted in the Galleries here. If you want to see more, check out my personal site.

That's it for now.

Cheers!

Nathan
