When I start to scroll down the font list it freezes for about 10 secs then starts then freezes and so on .... is this a hardware issue ???
Thanks
Mike
Is this in Draw or AftetShot?
Draw ...... was ok until I upgraded to win 10
If you're using Corel's Font Navigator software with CorelDRAW and have it pointing to a folder with a really large amount of fonts that alone can make the menu hang. Use the filters in the font menu dialog to toggle between showing only those installed directly in the OS versus showing any additional font collection folders. If the menu only shows installed fonts it works more smoothly. In addition, be careful about including various picture fonts in a collection (or even installing them for that matter). What I mean by picture fonts is that instead of letters the glyph assignments contain pieces of clip art. If the clip art glyphs are complex in nature it will really hang the crud out of Corel's font menu.
Thanks for your reply Bobby but I have tried your advice and still the same ....scroll a few then stops for about 20 secs ....its almost unusable ...... taking ages to do a simple job now ....I have googled it and seems like there are lots of people having the same problem .
Are your fonts stored locally or on a network drive?
Locally ....... but the font font manager scrolls ok ......but not in draw ......locks the whole thing up and takes ages to come back .......was ok on win 7 ... its painful just to look for a font ....is there any work around.
Not one that will make you happy. I set my filters only for installed and system fonts and turn off uses font for display. I use CFM to search for fonts.
Thanks for your reply David ..... Is it possible to search in CFM and choose the font to use .....or do I just get the name in CFM and go back to the font list and choose from there...... hope that makes sense ...lol...
You find the font is CFM and choose from Draw, however the changes in Draw to the way it displays fonts in the list makes it faster. It's old school but it works fast.
I'm really sorry David but I don't understand what u mean .....or am I a bit thick .....lol...
"You find the font is CFM and choose from Draw"
In CFM you can set a line of copy scroll through and find a font, install it if it's not installed. Then you may need to close DRAW open Draw and you file and select the font in Draw.
Do you know how to change how the font drop down displays a font?
Thanks David ...... I think I know how to change the drop down display....... but not sure what you mean
"Then you may need to close DRAW open Draw and you file and select the font in Draw" ??????
My drop down displays the font how they look.....is that correct ?
Thanks again
