Are we ever going to get font display optimization? Font list display is incredibly SLOW. It doesn't matter if using the dedicated Corel Font Manager, the Font Dropdown menu or the Insert Character docker from within Draw. This should have been fixed. It's worse in CorelDraw, but neither is acceptable. Most professional designers have a plethora of fonts, managing them effectively is critical.

What are your font filter setting in CorelDraw? How many fonts in your linked fonts folder?
David,
I have a ton of fonts. Just over 11,000 in the folders I have assigned to Font Manager. I think it might be the distressed fonts that choke FM. The fonts display pretty quickly in FM, but can take forever Draw. Unfortunately, I don't see any improvement in 2018.
How many distressed fonts are installed? Those types of fonts are slow to load indeed here too. But all the rest are fine. Some distressed fonts are fine too. But the ones that are slow to load are distressed.I don't use any Corel font managing software. I work with Proxima Font EXPERT. It's not free. But it works so darn well. I have nearly 3000 fonts installed. I barely use more than 50 frequently.I know it's out of no doubt, none of my business, but why so many fonts installed?
Just a simple question here.Have you tried, just for the sake of it, to run CorelDRAW with ridiculously less fonts? Say, like I do. 3000. Just to try if Corel's behavior is the same...
the fonts don't have to be "installed" into Windows to choke FM. In my experience, once FM acknowledges the font is on the hard drive it makes it available to Corel. I don't see how anyone with any sizable font library at their disposal can even think of using Corel Font Manager... It is quite possible I don't fully understand the program, stopped using it because it left such a horrible first impression.
