Are we ever going to get font display optimization? Font list display is incredibly SLOW. It doesn't matter if using the dedicated Corel Font Manager, the Font Dropdown menu or the Insert Character docker from within Draw. This should have been fixed. It's worse in CorelDraw, but neither is acceptable. Most professional designers have a plethora of fonts, managing them effectively is critical.

I dont think fonts have to be installed
All in all, how was this issue solved ? knowtechie.com/.../
it hasn't been resolved as far as I know... you just learn to live with it... A new version comes out, and there are a number of issues I check to see if they have been addressed... I can't remember ever thinking, yay! they fixed that.. more often I find other problems (I'm looking at you CorelTrace, with your estimated time to completion at 62546 hours) But, with over 20 years of cdr files, not sure how to migrate anywhere else... and I simply reject Illustrator out of hand..
Issues with Corel Font Manager have not been solved. If anything, font handling in CorelDRAW has grown worse as the application tried to accommodate newer font technologies such as OpenType Variable fonts. I've seen numerous issues with variable fonts. Helvetica Now Variable is currently the top selling new font package at the MyFonts web site. It works great in other applications like Adobe Illustrator. For reasons I don't understand the Helvetica Now Variable typeface can bring CorelDRAW 2021 to its knees, especially on older computer hardware. Even on a brand new, very powerful computer Helvetica Now Variable works in a very choppy, sluggish manner in CorelDRAW 2021.
Pardon my mini rant... Corel is a great product overall.. and I believe most of the issues that have cropped up were a result of them recreating the entire engine. At least that's my theory. But I also believe that was a couple versions ago, time to fix your issues.. Converting a greyscale bitmap to black/white - line art mode come to mind... used to work fantastic, now... no. I have at least 100 fonts that show up in my font list, that all look amazingly like Arial, and none of these fonts are actually installed in windows.. crap... I'm ranting again.. . have a great day.
