Are we ever going to get font display optimization? Font list display is incredibly SLOW. It doesn't matter if using the dedicated Corel Font Manager, the Font Dropdown menu or the Insert Character docker from within Draw. This should have been fixed. It's worse in CorelDraw, but neither is acceptable. Most professional designers have a plethora of fonts, managing them effectively is critical.

I dont think fonts have to be installed
All in all, how was this issue solved ? knowtechie.com/.../
Pardon my mini rant... Corel is a great product overall.. and I believe most of the issues that have cropped up were a result of them recreating the entire engine. At least that's my theory. But I also believe that was a couple versions ago, time to fix your issues.. Converting a greyscale bitmap to black/white - line art mode come to mind... used to work fantastic, now... no. I have at least 100 fonts that show up in my font list, that all look amazingly like Arial, and none of these fonts are actually installed in windows.. crap... I'm ranting again.. . have a great day.
That's another bug. You can remove a type family, even delete it from the Windows fonts folder, and it may still be listed in the CorelDRAW font menu, and previewing like it is Arial. You can re-install that type family and it can be listed and that old Arial-looking listing will still be in there!
I am curious how he did this... I see no setting in Corel for this.. I will open FM only if I have to.
David Milisock "My CorelDRAW is set only for installed and system fonts"
When you click the drop-down font menu in CorelDRAW there are icons along the top of the menu. One of them (it sort of looks like a tornado to me) is the "show/hide filter list" icon. Click on that and you'll see a column of options to the right of the font menu. Within that right column you can check options like "installed," "not installed" or "protected system fonts."
oh, it is just a filter, I was looking in the Corel options, hoping to prevent it from acknowledging them at all.
The idea that you can use fonts that are not installed in the OS seems odd... and frankly may be a large part of the problem.
Thank you for the info, I do appreciate it
Well fonts are now worse than ever even with Adobe, they don't get installed on the system in many cases and as an output provider you either demand curves, have the file producer provide the fonts or bill the end user for the fonts you have to buy.
