In the new 2018 update: When publishing to PDF, the results do not include bitmap images. Acrobat displays an error message saying that an error exists on the page and that it will not display correctly. Any bitmap is not displayed. Another 2018 bug.
Hi David. Thanks for replying.
It's not the file that problematic. When I save it to X8 and publish it to PDF from that version, it goes through without issue. Anything I create in and export from 2018 fails to publish properly - as I described in my last post, missing pages and bitmaps colours going beserk.
I also do signwork every day alonside multi page docs. I've never had these problems before.in any of the previous versions.
I appreciate what you're saying about settings but I've checked them over and over. The Publish to PDF settings and presets are identical in .X8 and 2018 I've repaired and reinstalled to no avail.
Still odder the printer phoned me only this afternoon that a full size JPEG I had sent him for a fairly small sign wouldn't open. I've saved it down to X8 and re exported it and everything's fine.
One perculiarity is that when I installed the 2018 upgrade (from disc) I wasn't asked for a previous version code. It always has in the past when upgrading by download or disc.
I've already dropboxed a file to Ariel, as requested in the thread Big problems exporting PDF.
Many thanks, Colin
I don't have access to the file you posted, I'd like to test the CDR file anyway. I only use 2018 and I'm not having any issues.
Hi David
Ariel has got back (impressively quickly) and spotted a number of issues. I'll be looking into them today but at first glance they look to be largely of my own making (!). I'll get back later if that's OK.
Works for me as long as you're happy. I use PDF export 99% of the time and it works perfectly in 2018. If Corel can study files like this they maybe can develop training materials
Thanks to everyone in the thread. Draw has a great community!
When I first started this, I didn't do any alternate attempts with another document, just the same newsletter file I've used previously. I just opened in Draw 2018 a more recent copy created in Draw 2017 and exported it to PDF without any of the issues (bitmaps not exporting, only 1 of 2 pages exporting). So it does seem to be working correctly.
I am truly at a loss as to why the initial file did not work. Nothing different from the one that worked. The only thing I noticed different today was the text warning about replacing fonts a newer version. I didn't get that with the previous upgrade of the file to 18.
I'll update this thread if something changes, so thanks again, but never mind...
