I am running CorelDRAW 2018 on a Windows 10, MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro Laptop. Running 16 GB of RAM with a Intel HD Graphics 5600 and NVIDA GeForce GTX 970M graphics card. I encountered the same problem when I attempted to switch back and use CorelDRAW X8. Sometimes are saving a file the program will lock up, requiring me to end the process. The same lock up occurs almost every time I try to close an individual file. Is something interfering wiith my corel program?
Thanks in advance for the help
Saving file is a background process, CorelDRAW remains active and of course will not allow to close file until the file is finished writing
While I understand what you are saying, when I go to close the file the save is already complete. If I were to save a file and the move and object within the workspace and go file > close, Corel freezes still.
CorelDRAW locks up when you close any file or one?
Closing any file. I have tried troubleshooting this with 10+ different files, ranging from a completely blank to a large file.
if you run CorelDRAW, and then just close it without opening any file, it also freezes?
No
try this: save the file as you normally do, then move it to another folder or delete the saved file. After that, close the file. Does CorelDraw hangs or not?
With the file still open in Corel anyone would be unable to move it or delete it since Corel is using it
I would like to help you, but I am afraid my knowledge is not enough to do this, I have never encountered such a situation. All versions of CorelDRAW (X3-X8), which I used, regularly saved files without hanging.
Still, I believe that the matter in the background process, perhaps the process of recording for some reason, takes a very long time. Maybe the antivirus starts checking it (for example, in my case, KAV sometimes does not allow to delete the .cdr file because it tries to find viruses in it).
Your saved file that remains after the killing process then normally opens?
