Hoping someone can help me out. I have a new computer that is only 4 months old. I have been saving everything I do to C drive (120GB) like I have always done, now it is full and I cant work on it anymore. I have a D drive that is 2TB so I copied all my documents, photos etc to that drive to free up space on C drive. Now when I try and open up any file on D drive I get the following message
"Please reconnect the device that has the file location, or choose a new folder. In the meantime, content will be saved in the corel default location. You can move the content after the file location is restored' Can anyone tell me what that means and what I need to do. Thank you
I have the Home and Student version of CorelDraw 2019 and the solution below do not work because there is no "Settings - Global - File Location" available. However, I found, by searching the Registry for CorelDraw and then File Locations, that the faulty entry could be changed so that all the file locations were the same and the message disappeared.

Thank you for sharing this. In many cases, it's much harder to find information about the "Home and Student" version.
If you do much digging around in the Registry, then check out the NirSoft RegScanner tool.
The last time I set up a new Windows machine, I made a donation to Nir Sofer, because some of the tools he shares are so very, very useful.
To be precise, the location of the settings is:Computer\HKEY_USERS\YourUserGUID\SOFTWARE\Corel\CorelDRAW Home & Student\21.0\Box Preferences\File Locations
I have the academic user version too with the same problem. I found the registry keys using a freeware tool called "Registry Finder" which is much faster than RegEdit; it also allows text-replacement of the offending parts of the key. I have found this helpful with both Corel Draw and PaintShop Pro, both of which like to put various files in my documents directory that I don't want cluttered with this sort of thing; I've used RegFinder to change the keys to read a more suitable location. By the by there were a whole bunch of locations - 25 or so.
As always ensure that you backup registry first though I guess reinstalling CDraw would fix any major errors.
