I don't think I did my research enough. I upgraded an old computer running X4 and X7 with Windows 7 and an original Fine Cut 7 plug-in for a Mimaki CG60SR Cutting Plotter to a Windows 10 and Corel 2018 and now unable to drive the Mimaki. Fortunately the old computer will still do the job (for the time being). I can't even find where to download Fine Cut 8 as they all seem to be upgrade versions then I have the ability to install X7 on the new computer and that should work? Any other suggestions??
If you want to use FineCut with CorelDraw 2018, you must install version 8.7.6 or higher (when they arrive).This version works fine with Draw 2018 on Windows 10.The download may look like an upgrade but it contains the full version, but you must have the original CD to validate that you have a legal copy of the plugin.This is in my opinion a really stupid requirement, since the plugin can only be used with Mimaki plotters and they are all sold with a copy of FineCut included (as far as I know).Anyway, if you for some reason don't have a CD, you'll be in trouble.In that case, contact your dealer to see if they can help.
Thanks Ronny! There in lies the problem. I have the original CD but it is so old it will not load into Windows 10 and all the links I have looked at require a previous version installed before an update. Nothing is made easy and I cannot understand why these companies are not more helpful. Yes! I am in trouble.
