I don't think I did my research enough. I upgraded an old computer running X4 and X7 with Windows 7 and an original Fine Cut 7 plug-in for a Mimaki CG60SR Cutting Plotter to a Windows 10 and Corel 2018 and now unable to drive the Mimaki. Fortunately the old computer will still do the job (for the time being). I can't even find where to download Fine Cut 8 as they all seem to be upgrade versions then I have the ability to install X7 on the new computer and that should work? Any other suggestions??
After creating the ISO and putting it on the USB stick, all you have to do is to mount it as a disk on your computer. I think all you have to do is to double click the ISO, or possibly right click and choose Mount. Then it should appear ad a disk in Windows Explorer. You don't have to run it or anything, just make sure it is available when you install the latest version of FineCut, which can be found here.
Ronny! You are an absolute genius. I came up with Express Burn 4.82 after trying a couple that were infected. So easy, just a couple of clicks and you have your image file. I mounted it and downloaded Fine Cut 8. The wizard found the file even asking me to insert the DVD. Just answered yes, yes and off we went. Saved Fine Cut 8 to the desktop then opened and ran set-up. Had a bit of a problem with finding the communication port but the trouble shooter fixed it after three attempts. Set up some vinyl, sent ABCD through to the plotter, pressed remote and then clicked on the cut icon in Corel. You have no idea how I felt when that Mimaki went to work. Open a bottle of wine and relaxed. Thanks ever so much and thanks to the Corel Community for my first question solved. Craig
An absolute genius? Oh no, but I have my bright moments. LOL.To be honest, I got the tip from a service guy working with Mimaki machines. But thanks anyway, I'm so glad you got it solved.Remember to save the USB-stick for future use, you will need it every time you upgrade FineCut.
Hey Ronny, I spoke with the tech from Mimaki Australia today and explained what you had told me. I think he wrote it all down for future reference. I have taped the USB into the Fine Cut 7 Box and there it will stay until needed again. Did you have a look at Express Burn?
I used a program that I found called CDBurnerXP.Only time I've used it so I have no idea whether it is good for other things too or not.
