hi i am trying to emulate this image - original file here - https://www.math.cuhk.edu.hk/sites/default/files/about-us/newsletter/newsletter1718.pdf
I specifically want the disappearing dots from small to large to small again. i tried with the blend tool but i can't make it perfect like this
also there are lots of gradient overlaps which I can't seem to understand. maybe someone can give me a hand.
There is a docker in CorelDraw 2018, called Pointillizer (Window > Dockers > Effects, or directly from the Effects menu).Try experimenting with the different settings until you get the result you are looking for..Regarding the gradients and transparencies: Complicated stuff, not easy to describe.Play with it until you find a way to recreate.
Pointilizer is awesome...but i need to play with it as I don't understand the logic
Haven't used it much myself but it seems to be fairly easy to understand.Density is the number of "dots" per square inch.Scale is a kind of "swell", where 1.0 seems to be no swell, no shrink.Angle is of course the angle for the row of tiles.Tracing options, Method."Uniform" makes all dots the same size and show lightness with different colors."Size modulation" also changes the dot size to simulate lightness. In your case I would start with something like this:Density, 5Scale, 0.5Screen Angle, 0.0Limit colors, 4Method, Size modulation (opacity)Merge adjacent, 1Weld adjacent, Enabled (to keep all dots with the same color as one object, if that's what you prefer)Shape, CircleGood luck!
