I had short term use of 2017 when 2018 upgraded me.I recalled when I powerclipped an item it left behind an X in the containerafter extraction. Same applies to 2018 as you may see.Is this possible to have it removed or is it there for good.Tired of doing the Create Boundary thing on certain objects.
There is a "No frame" Command that can be use to make the selection no longer be a PowerClip frame.
One way to get to that is to select the object, right-click, then use Frame Type > None in the context menu.
Since it's a Command, it's available to use on toolbars and menus, and can have a keyboard shortcut assigned to it.
Hey John, I have the Alt+N combo mapped to No Frame.
Under Workspace > PowerClip frames
Uncheck: [ ] Show lines in empty PowerClip frames
and the 'container' still remains a Powerclip object.
the following macro returns the container w/ objects extracted back to an object.
Objects within the container using the macro below will delete whats inside.
Sub Unassign_PowerClip_frames()Dim SR As ShapeRangeDim S As Shape On Error GoTo ErrHandler Set SR = ActiveSelectionRange For Each S In SR If Not S.PowerClip Is Nothing Then S.CreateSelection Application.FrameWork.Automation.InvokeItem "7b022531-3cd7-487f-a797-9d80179dc821" DoEvents End If Next SExitSub: Refresh Exit SubErrHandler: MsgBox "Error occurred: " & Err.Description & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & "Unassign_PowerClip_frames()" Resume ExitSubEnd Sub
So assigning a shortcut helps that issue. Kind of tiresome whendragging an object over the PC object and it turns blue.
Tools / options / powerclip frame, disable the X
