Does anyone have experience with Corel on a macintosh platform? I am not at all aware of it, looking for information. After a long time pc experience I decide to change pc/mac (imac or macpro). What are the options? I know that does it work pc sw on mac through Bootcamp/Parallesls Desktop. Does it work fine? Are there differences in speed, response, normal work or larger files?thanks for any feedback and/or advicePeter
I would rather advise you to bungee jump then get a MAC but if you must and you want to run CorelDRAW SPEND lots of money and buy POWER. Go big or go home, if not get a big rock and drop it on your foot at least some day that will heal.
With this said Corel just bought Parallels, what does that tell you?
BTW, it's normal and OK for the price of your new PC.If you want the 'SAME' or comparable performance with a PC and a MAC, the price is a good cue. Unless you head for a cheap labor type of machine like an ACER or the entry level HPs...But not to worry...you won't find any. You'll also notice your components will be more powerful within the PCs than in the MACs. Don't be fooled. Their systems don't work the same. Windows is far more demanding than OS on MAC. So to end up with the remaining performance you need to run your software, it's normal the PC needs more powerful components.
Parellels is a software to run PC stuff on a MAC.
Price's can vary per country, I feel bad for most people in European and Asian Countries.
To run CorelDRAW I recommend based on U.S. pricing 32 GB of RAM a 500GB SSD, maybe a NVidia Geforce GTX 980, GB network card Windows 10 Pro. NO AMD ANYTHING! That means video or processor.
I can build that PC system in the U.S. for about $1,200.
Start your pricing with those specs and remember NO AMD! I just checked a similar MAC is $4,000 U.S. and they only offer AMD video cards so you're screwed. They only offer Xeon processors and Corel users on the PC regularly report issues with their systems using Xeon processors.
On Windows first thing run all your updates every morning use Windows Defender for anti-malware and virus.
32 GIGS of RAM??!!!Of course, it depends wich processor you work with...I have a DELL XPS, i7 6700K at 4ghz, 24gb RAM, NVIDIA 960, 250 SSD... Runs like a charm. I bought it from Canada, Black Friday Special in 2017 at a price of $1699.99 CAD. Reg $2399.99.My second DELL computer, and NO AMD!!!!! EVER!!! You're right about that, David!I'm never going to change for a MAC as long as I use CorelDRAW.
