I hate scrolling thru dozens of colors. In X6 you could easily type in the PMS number. Where is that feature in X8?
In the Object Properties docker, when working with color palettes, there is a "Find Color" option.
That brings up this box. In this shot, I have typed in "13". As you type, it refines what it shows.
You can also use the drop-down.
Selecting something doesn't apply that color, but it scrolls the palette in the docker to show that color, highlights it in the palette, and moves the mouse pointer over it.
Good call. And how does this work better than it used to? A lot more steps. Just like the Layer Manager View. Used to be an icon you could toggle now you have to click and click and move and click etc.
Agreed! Not an improvement when you have to dig around. Used to be super easy!

In the Edit Fill dialog, you can just type in the "Name" box, and it updates the visible palette on-the fly as you type. I think that's a nice way to do it, but I don't know if they use that anywhere else in the UI. In other parts of the UI, when a spot palette is displayed, they show a tint slider - so why not also show a search box? Way more discoverable.

I don't like everything about 2019, but I think they have actually made some improvements there.
