Most of the time my designs print pretty good on my Epson p800. Every now and then a new design will print with parts of it having jagged edges. When zoomed in on the screen, it looks great at any magnification. I'm not too computer savy, but I have been working with Coreldraw for 6 or 7 years, most recently on x8. I have read other similar complaints, but I'm kind of stumped.
I'm surprised there has been no comments for a month. Anyway, I have a design with about 30 different objects that overlap each other. Looks great on the monitor. When printed, some areas are sharp and other areas are jagged. Now, when I separate all 30 objects and make a print, each object prints fine. Reassemble all 30 to the final design and when printed, once again some sections are sharp and some are jagged. There has to be a simple solution. Right?
all vector shapes?
Text?
How does it look in wireframe view?
You should be able to upload a file to for example WeTransfer, Kurt, and then post a link here.Give it a try, I would really like to see what's causing this jagginess.
OK, I will do that. I would love to see what you think the issue may be. Thanks
I know what the problem is.
It has been this way for awhile now.
There is a work around.
The problem is. the drop shadow is a bitmap, whenever the bitmap goes over the vector it does this.
If you look at it in wire frame and compare to the printed output you will see only within the bitmaps outline is the jagged edges.
My work around is to vector a shape needed and power clip the drop shadow within.
I do understand what you are saying and it does make sense. But....for several years I have been using inside drop shadows and everything always printed fine. Now it seems almost everything I use an inside drop shadow on prints with jagged edges. It think it's actually getting worse. I will try your advice and I am still working on uploading a sample file. I have to to that through my phone and it's a bit tricky for me.
I just printed a 2 year old file and it printed fine. Not one jaggie. Then I printed a file I created today and horrible jaggies everywhere. Same work method for both files with many inside drop shadows. Do I need a full reinstall of x8?
