Whilst editing a facing-pages document, I often get two pages inverted. Which may be the cause?

I'm editing an original document, with facing pages layout (which I usually dislike).
It often happens, after editing text, I find two pages "inverted", left- with right page.
Which may be the cause of that, how to avoid and how to fast repair?
