I just recently upgraded from Version X4 (14) to Version 2018 (20). Almost all of my CorelDraw files are in X4 format (literally thousands of files). So far, they seem to open just fine in Version 2018 (20). However, when I try to save them in Version 2018, some of them crash the CorelDraw program, while others do not. Also, when I use the "Save As" feature, I am able to save those same (crashing) files in Version 14 (X4) and/or 15 (X5), but if I try to save in a higher Version, i.e. 16 or higher, the program crashes.
Is anyone aware of this problem and is there a solution?

Well, I figured out a workaround. Open the file in CorelDraw that's crashing the app on save. Use "Save as" and save it as Adobe Illustrator (AI). Close (without saving) the offending CDR file. Open the newly created AI file with CorelDraw. Use "Save as" to save that file to the original CDR name.
Wow, yeah that was a workaround for sure, but you shouldn't have to do that of course.Without really knowing, I would suspect that there might be styles or something else in those files, that aren't fully compatible with Draw 2018, but I'm only guessing.I would try to copy all objects from a file that cannot be saved, into a fresh new 2018 document, and then save it from there.Does it make any difference?If not, I would try copying bit by bit and save, until it crashes, to get an idea what is causing it.Not too fun perhaps but once you have found the culprit in one file, maybe you can try to remove that part from other files too before saving.
