Hi
For a couple of weeks now, Coreldraw has been crashing (blinking out with no warning) whenever I attempt an OUTLIINE / LINE ART TRACE. The first time it happened I thought it was simply one of those things. but since then it's occurred every time. This is a facility I use a lot and have never experienced a problem before.
Thanks Colin
Have you tried clearing out you temp directory.
I windows explorer type %temp% in the address bar and delete the file in it, best to to a reboot just before doing it.
Thanks Boomhauer
Yes, I've carried out all the usual fixes - F8, repair, etc and I regularly clear the temp files - but the issue persists.

Has this started after any Windows updates?
Hi David
Quite possibly but not sure, though it wouldn't be the first time an unwanted Windows update gummed up the works.
I have noticed that the last 2 Window updates have made my pointers erratic but that seems to have subsided.
I had that as well (erratic pointers). Fortunately my mouse and pen have returned to normal as well, but for a couple of days my wacom was virtuously unusable. I wasted several batteries on the former, thinking it must be the power supply.
Hopefully the Trace issue will disappear as well.
Is there nothing that can be done re. Windows updates? Restoring to an earlier date doesn't help; I tried that and the update was reinstalled (Microsoft Edge) whether I liked it or not.
Why do they (the updates) seem to impact on Corel? I haven't noticed them affecting other software..
The mouse movement affected many programs, MS Edge, MS Office Quickbooks. A bunch of stuff.
Sorry David, I was referring to the present Trace issue and previous Corel hiccups over the years. My recent pointer problems were across the board as well.
I agree CorelDRAW does seem to regularly be more sensitive to updates than other software but not in this case.
