I'm creating a wine label and the graphics come out beautifully but the text is blurry. Is there a setting that can sharpen text? Are there certain fonts that are better than others at small sizes?
Specifics:
Using Engravers Gothic BT
All font sizes have jagged edges
It gets worse the smaller the font size
I would like to use 12pt but it's almost illegible
I'm exporting to a png for the web
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Other fonts don't seem much better
Thanks for your thoughts.
David - you say "when it's enlarged it's fine". Are you talking about increasing the zoom level within CorelDraw or are you using something different to view it?
Rebrand - I had one page printed at a professional printer in town and the result came out jagged. If I want to try converting text to curves without saving it can you give me some advice about how to get it on a thumb drive without saving it? I've been exporting it to a png to take to the printer.
These might sound like dumb questions so please forgive me, but I really appreciate your advice.
I just meant not to save your working copy in curves. Saving it on a thumbdrive would be fine. I would also ask your professional printer regarding the settings I mentioned above and others if necessary. They should have high end equipment where the extra options are likely available. Trying everything can make a big difference, although in your case saving in vector I think will probably fix the issue. I've had small thin text in greyscale that didn't look good at default, but after adjusting various settings including as well line/dot and so on it turned out quite nicely. Edge case, but that's why the features are/should be there.
PNG is your problem, export as print ready PDF.
