I have over 200 images that I have to export to BMP. Each time I select one and export it as a BMP, I have to select Grayscale.
Select Image/Export/Save as Type - BMP/Convert to Bitmap/Color/Color mode: Grayscale.
The default is Paletted. Is it possible to change the default color mode to Grayscale?
They're using an old program to lay out a book.
I don't know which program they use, but certainly BMP is the wrong option. It is a very low quality format used for icons and screen textures in older versions of Windows. If it is for printing, it is not advisable, a vector PDF will be lighter, will have higher quality and will be faster. If it is for the web or to read online, the same.Using BMP for a book is a serious misconception. No matter what program it is, or how old the program is, both PageMaker and MS Publisher supported better formats like JPG or TIF, and before them Ventura allowed it too.Worse yet, wanting to use grayscale BMP is almost paradoxical.
Ariel, thank you. I'll let them know.
