Dear everyone!
I am new to Corel Draw, and this is my first post on the Corel Community.
I start to create a Star shape, with a Power Clip of a nice Sea Texture, and then when i want to add a Bevel effect, the program didn't allow me to do that. so i try to flip, and too do first the Bevel and then to doo the Power Clip, but now the program didnt let me to do the Power clip, its poping up a message that i can’t do that to this kind of object.
So, My question is:
Does Corel Draw not allow to do both? or maybe it's a setting or a kind of bug?
Please help me to figger it out. [in other vector programs i fond this kinds of effects to work instantly and properly)
THANKS
(see images)
this is no problem - draw two star, one for powerclip, second above - for bevel. Apply small transparency for star with bevel. You got nice star with bevel and sea texture
Thanks Shark. but No, this is not a good idea. i have now to play with the colours and the the transparency... i need someting instant!

Sorry, there's not "instant" effect like this.
On CorelDRAW, you can create the effect using two objects, the star with bevel and the powerclip (a lens on multiply mode could create the eeffect you want). Or you can use PhotoPaint for create this kind of effect. But still, there's not "instant" effect.

Sory, but i can't understand that. A vector progrom like Corel Draw, without normal 3D effects?
If i want to get someting nice, i have to loss my vector, and do it in Photo Phaint as an image?
Ronny Axelsson said:Affinity Designer can do it and is a great program in many ways, but I suppose you want to do more than beveled stars and you will probably find a lot of other limitations in Designer too, or in any other software for that matter.
Only "Affinity" has the ability to program an Aplication with great 3D effects, and "Corel" not?
It can be that Corel Draw has a lot of other Amazing things what you will not find in "designer" or in "illustrator", but 3D effects is a Most in a Vector program. its like a Coffee machine, with no Coffee beens...
and no, my plan is not, to use Draw only for "beveled stars"... but 3D effects i need not only for stars and shaps, and i am not the only one.
In other graphic aplications, we have the ability to do "instantly" (also for "vector", and with very wide Flexibility):
Please add ALL this effects to Corel Draw.
All these effects are already present in CorelDRAW from earlier versions
Draw star, use it as powerclip for image, then convert powerclip to bitmap (with transparent backgr.), go to Bimaps-3D Effects-Emboss... and you can get what you want. Instant. Almost.
Sory, but in a Vector aplication like Corel Draw, i dont have to lost my VECTOR to create a 3D effect.
Take a look in other aplications, and you will find that im not talking now of things that are not possible to generate in a 2018 / 2019 vector aplication.
so, now i just ask that they shold add this prime features in the next version (and i found that i am not the first one to ask that).
I agree with your request, i hope that Corel will add them in the 2019 version.
for vector shapes you can use Interactive Extrude Tool

I did'n say that thare is no tools in Corel Draw, there is also a Contour, Drop shadow, and Blend tool... and many many more.
Of Course i can use the "Extrude Tool", but not to add an "Inner shadow" or "Inner glow" etc.

Yes, CorelDRAW is a great vector program, but it's not a 3D program.
I dont talk about "3D", im talkink about 3D effects (this is 2 separate things), that ALL vector programs have, (and Corel Draw also, but the options and creativity are very limitit)
Sir, my opinion is that now is this forum here, a "feature request".
Dear Corel Draw!
This is my first Logo i drawn in Corel Draw. i drawn it with the help of the amazing 2018 "Symmetry Tool", and it was realy eazy and fun.
But, wen i finish to design it, i want to add some light effect to it, but i didn't found something with real creativity in the Corel program (a Bevel effect didnt give it a nice look as i want).
So, i didn't have an other choice, i import it to "Affinity Designer", and i was able to do a nice effect that i love (i use the "Inner shadow" effect), and then i bring it back to Corel (as a PNG - no other choice founded) to finish it up (see images).
{this i drawn in Corel - The best choice!}
{I import it in Affinity to add the effect}
{and, back to Corel}
----------------------------
Please add this all creative effects, to the next Corel Draw version! (all 2018-2019 graphic programs have this today)
Thanks!
you can do the same thing in CorelDRAW. Draw color parts of your logo, copy and combine them with circle to make white shape. Center shapes. Apply shadow to white shape. Group shapes. Use another circle for powerclip, to remove edges of outer shadow .
I repeat, the effects of glow, shadows and bevel/emboss have long been available in CorelDraw
