I would like to know please how to type text in a table in CorelDraw 18. When I use the table tool to click a cell in the table its highlighted, but nothing happens. I cannot see a cursor. When I click back to the the type tool the I can only type over the table in a new layer and not in a table cell.
Kind regards
Chris
Not sure what is happening at your end (never use the Table tool myself) but if I create a table and then either1. click with the Table tool in an already selected table, or2. double click in a table cell with the Pick tool, or3. click in a table cell with the Text tool,I can add text to the table in any of these cases.

Ronny, thank you for your reply. None of those things work for me. Maybe there is a wrong setting somewhere or maybe an issue with a Win 10 update.
Please save a file with a "locked" table, change the file extension from cdr to zip, and attach (Insert) it to a message here so I can have a look at it.
Hello. I have attached the cdr file with the table as you suggested. It is an X8 file but the extension has been changed to zip. Whatever I do I can't manage to type anything in the cells.
Table.zip
When I open that document in X8, I see table cells that each have a width of 20.014 mm and a height of 4.747 mm. I also see that the cells have 2 mm margins.
If a cell is 4.747 mm high, and has 2 mm margins, that does not leave much room for the Paragraph Text frame! The text is set to 12 points, and there is always some additional empty space in a Paragraph Text frame between the text and the frame.
If I set the margins to zero, then I can edit text in the cells.
Thank you Ronny and Eskimo for your help. That appears to be the simple solution. I just needed to adjust the margins. Thanks again!
Eskimo is right, the cell height and the very generous margin value makes it almost impossible to make room for the text.Have to admit though, that I have no idea where or how to change it.
Ronny, I have highlighted it in the attached screenshot. The option is available if a cell or the table is highlighted. It might be useful in case someone is searching this thread in the future.
Thanks Chris.Took me a while to find out that I have to click on an already selected table's left or top edge with the Table tool, to highlight it. :-)
