I'm very new to CorelDraw, but have some (old) background in PhotoShop. I've purchased the 2018 Home and Student Suite. I'd like to create some images I can upload to a project to be printed on a banner. They would be just text with a transparent background.
I've tried Photo-Paint and DRAW. I couldn't get either to export with a transparent background. I'm wondering if it's because it's the Student version (although there is a Transparency tool on my toolbar in both products), or perhaps I need to add a new layer (I've just been adding text to layer 1).
The Help articles say to enable the transparency check box in the settings area. I don't see that . Please don't tell me this basic option is not available in the student version
Any suggestions are appreciated.

What format are you exporting to?JPG for example, doesn't support transparency.
Thank you for your response. I tried both gif and png - neither had the option of the transparency check box (assuming I was looking in the right place)
File/Export or ctrl+e
then
THANK YOU!! I was using Export For Web.
