Hey all,
So, I've used CorelDraw 2018 for a year without issue. It works for me and it's easy to use. Well, all of a sudden I can't open most of my saved .dxf files. I get an "Unrecoverable Error" and it won't allow me to open my files that I saved. I've contacted support and they said that the 2018 version is too old to open newer .dxf files. I didn't have this issue a week ago and now all of a sudden I'm not able to open my own files. They pretty much told me that I'm SOL and to buy the newest version. What's the point of spending $500 for this to possibly happen again? I own this version so I should be able to use it to its fullest capability. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks.
I tried to run it as an administrator, but that didn't work either, unfortunately. At the moment, I'm trying my hand at a trial of Illustrator to see if I could make the switch.
I do suddenly remember that the Corel support person said something about my program having "partial compatibility". Not sure what that meant, considering that's never been a problem before.
Inkscape is free.
The support person is smoking crack. You might wanna point them to this thread and point out others are not having the issue.
I'll give Inkscape a go. I appreciate the help! So far, Corel's support is pretty bad. And I can tell they're just pushing me to buy the newest version. I told them I'm not buying so hopefully Inkscape is a viable alternative for me.
Thanks again for all your help.
tested opening / importing on version 11, X4, X5, 2019 and it worked well
Ifrepair doesn't hellp then i would try to reset Corel Draw workpace (hold F8 when starting CD, be aware that you will loose your workspace customization
I did the workspace reset a few days ago and it didn't work, unfortunately. I appreciate your help though.
