I just did a Win 10 Pro upgrade (from Win 7 Pro) and everything appears to have gone smoothly.
However, when working in Coreldraw, I noticed that objects and nodes are not self locating and "snapping" together.I rely on this featureI believe this is the "snap to object" feature...and I have checked within Options/Customizations, that this feature is on, active, all things selected.
The quick turn on/off command from within the program is Alt+Z...which does not fix it.Alt+Z also appears to be a Win 10 command...I get screen record/stream options appear on the screen when I press it.
So, has Win10 killed the snap to feature? is it related to the Alt+Z command? or what is going on?
Wow, that sort of squirrelly behavior would drive me nuts!
2018 - perhaps my favorite version of CorelDRAW - has always worked pretty reliably for me under Windows 10.
yeah, pretty frustrated here. I delayed getting Win 10, and this is exactly why. I didn't want any problems.
So, I paid attention to what was said/asked earlier...the idea of saved workspaces.Since I often make changes to the toolbars, etc and then "set as default"...
So, I decided to try another full re-install of Corel.I also needed to remove and replace a couple of other programs, and I wanted to update the Graphics software.
I uninstalled Corel, and this time, did a search for any and all references to Corel...and then deleted any files and folders related.
Then I cleaned all temp files, etc and cleaned the registry, and rebooted the system.
Then...updated Radeon Graphics to newest Win10 compatible stuff that relates to my RX580 8gb card.
After updating a couple of other things, including some Windows updates...I reinstalled Corel completely.
Before I even opened a file, I adjusted all my preferences and modified the toolbars, palettes, and workspace to suit my liking. Then opened a file......
...all is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For now anyway.lolI can't honestly tell you what sorted it out...one of the things I mentioned...but as long as it stays working, I need not fret about it any more.
Thanks for your inputs!
same problem again!
got up this morning and opened up the file I was working on yesterday...and snap-to is not working again.
I checked other files, the same problem...snap-to appears to be on, but its just not.
none of the snap-to modes work. I can't believe this.I literally cannot do my job without it since I rely so heavily on it.
There has to be a reason or a fix.
