Just had to reinstall Windows 8.1 and then CorelDraw X9. Since the install theEdit Bitmap option hasn't been operational. Tried a few suggestions but most relate to X8 and earlier versions. Any help would be great!
Do you mean X9? This is the CDGS 2019 forum.
So which suggestions did you try?
In Explorer right click on a .cpt file, choose 'Open With' then 'Choose Default Program'. Set this to PP 2019 if it isn't already.
If it is X9 (2017) then in PP go to MEnu> Tools>Options>Filters> Associate and make sure .cpt is checked. If its 2019 then this setting no longer exists.
There's not existe an "X9" version. After X8 (version 18.0) was launched CorelDRAW 2017 (version 19.0). So, maybe it coudl be a consudion between version 19.0 and CorelDRAW 2019 (version 21.0)
Anyway, the solution is the same. Select any CPT file in Windows Explorer (under Program Files / Corel you will find several), right button / choose "Open with ..." but do not choose any program, instead go to "Use another ..." and in the next list choose PhotoPaint (the version you want) and check the box "use this program by default"
No, the solution isn't the same. In every version up to 2019, there was an option to associate the .cpt file format with PP. SO many times my install did NOT have that correctly set and Edit Bitmap remained greyed out no matter what I did. Until I found that setting.
Now the setting has been removed from 2019, I do hope that it now ONLY requires the Windows setting to solve it.
Yes, I do mean 2019. I have ensured the default program is set but 2019 doesn't seem to this function to associate in this version?
What windows setting is required?
