Would like to know when will the CorelDRAW Mac 2019 updates be available?
I hope the sluggish performance will be addressed soon.
I have to say I am REALLY disappointed with Corel as a company and CorelDRAW's performance. I am running 21.1.0.643 on a mac. Is Corel happy with this product? Is this the best they can do? I wonder if any of their developers work in Affinity Designer and think "wow, ours is much better." I sure hope not because if they do then that's the problem.
generally is coreldraw a better program. in affinity designer there is a lot important tools that's missing like vector tracing etc. (except from the amazing vector effects in designer - and more text-box options). there is a reason why designer costs only $50...;)
it's a rope that draw have stability problems version after version.
That's a very subjective statement, calling Corel a better program. I'd would have said that 10 years ago, but not these days. And Affinity keeps improving their product and I don't have to buy a new version every year.
In terms of pricing you can't necessarily compare the cost to quality, take "low cost" phone and ipad apps as an example. It's really more about volume sales these days. And speaking of iPad apps Affinity has those too, and they're brilliant.
As an FYI Affinity Design works better with Illustrator files. I convert these to PDF and then Place in CorelDraw should you want to use Draw.
I believe that Affinity is growing in some areas or regions more than in others. I have never received an Affinity file or a PDF made in their programs. The comments I have read range from praise for the ease of handling, to criticism for problems in the output (PDF, color, etc), but I have not had time to try it yet.
Anyway, I think it's very good for everyone to have a third competitor. When there is a lack of competition, innovation stops.
Ariel 'm with you on the Affinity thing. I tried it and it was very unworkable for my work flow. In all my years and travels I've never seen an Affinity file or an Affinity published PDF used an any type of professional print output.
There's a whole other world out there other, one that doesn't include print output. ;) Affinity is still a fairly new player too.
I agree and that's why I have for years been pushing Corel for multiple versions. Programming for display work is childs play compared to Device n transparency. It's not my kind of work because in my area those doing B2B electronic marketing and web work in my opinion are being exploited but there is plenty of opportunity for a go getter to start their own business.
