Hi there. Both HQ's (1400KM apart) are experiencing this issues since upgrading to CorelDraw 2019. Whether we try to edit artistic or paragraph text, as soon as you doubleclick to edit text it de-selects and remove focus (selects the bounding box for the text). I'm also unable to create new artistic text, and as soon as I try to create paragraph text tho original problem persists.
All I can say is that it works here and that I have not heard about it before.The fact that you are seeing the same thing on two computers indicates that you may have something specific that triggers it.Maybe a conflicting software or plug-in, corrupt workspaces or defect fonts or something.
RESOLVED:
The problem occurs when importing a CorelDraw 2018 workspace into CorelDraw 2019. Resetting the workspace to default resolved the issue.
Unfortunately this means that settings, configurations, custom toolbars, shortcuts etc that I've worked with for years needs to be reconfigured. Tsk tsk Corel!
