In previous editions of Corel Draw I was able to set up a multipage document and have objects that were placed outside of the page area (i.e. on the 'Desktop') stay on successive pages. This useful feature (to me) seems to have disappeared from Corel Draw 2019. Was this a documented change that I have missed somewhere?
Note Eskimo's reply below, which is correct. However, it's apparently not something you can change globally - you need to change it for each document. I won't comment on the lunacy of that decision...

If I understand correctly, "Keep Desktop Objects on Layer" and "Select Object to Activate Layer" are not global settings, and are not document settings. Instead, they are workspace-based settings.
