Hello,
I am running Corel Draw 2019 on Windows 10 and have yet come across another mind-numbing issue. I am working in a file just fine, then I perform an action, such as import or transparency, and I get the spinney wheel of death. Go to Task manager and Corel is not responding. Sometimes it will eventually perform the action after an extended period of time (4-5 minuets) or nothing at all. Force quit. Save Auto backup of file when I reopen the program and then every action takes forever, if at all. This is very frustrating. Any insight would be most helpful. Thank you!
I wanted to update my comments. After 2 months of CorelDraw support, escalated to level 3, they told me the program doesn't work with my computer because it was a Windows 7 build. I guess that it didn't matter that I am running windows 10 and all my other programs were fine and run great. So there suggestion was that I needed to buy a new computer.
Can you run Corel in a compatibility instance. If you right click on the shortcut - as long as it's on your desktop, it should give you the option in the drop down to troubleshoot compatibility. I haven't checked compatibility, but mine hangs all the time - and last time even though I had manually saved the file, when it crashed, my last few changes were gone. I don't know what would require a new computer? My computer is 5 years old, but the i7 4770k with a RX580 graphics card and 16 GB of memory should run it fine. (My files are on a SSD). Same thing, everything else seems to run fine.
I'm a long time user and build my computers.
I think the problem might be my AMD Radeon graphics. I have always had my computers custom built and always used AMD. Right nowt I have a 1T SSD drive for all my programs and keep my files on a 1T SATA drive. I also have 32GB ram. I am running CD5, CDx8 and I took 2019 off because it wouldn't work. CDx8 works but just closes down and as someone else said "Poof", no warning, no backup when I turn it back on and no error code. I am afraid to use the newer program for real work because they are not backward compatible. I am now looking as second computer to run 2019, with and Intel i7 chip set. Still this would only be for CD and not sure it would be worth it. I may just change all my files to AI and stop using CD. I do have Adobe CS6. I have no plans to use a subscription based product.

You'll find that the NEW UP TO DATE COMPUTER will NOT fix your problems with the CURRENT STATE of v2019 and 2 updates later. I have many new workstations that work perfectly with X7 and 2017, BUT NOT v2019!
It would be a WISE CHOICE to DITCH CORELDRAW for Adobe Illustrator these days... the ONLY reason I use CorelDraw is I have over 20 years of CorelDraw files and I need the dimensioning features of CorelDraw. Adobe Illustrator you have to use Hotdoor CADTOOLS for dimensioning which is fully featured, but it's still a WORKAROUND overall how the AI plug in works. Everyone and their brother uses Adobe Illustrator that are SERIOUS with design work. Not that you cannot use CorelDraw to do the same...but you cannot work using v2019.
Wow, thanks so much for letting me know. I am in the same spot as you though in needing the dimension tools.
I "have to" continue using CorelDraw no matter what. I also use all the Adobe products among others.
V2019 will remain on the shelf until I have tested it thoroughly with future updates as it is DEFINITELY not useable for serious day to day work in it's current state. Once it is, then fine. But really, Corel needs to stop breaking it. It just causes so much grief for everyone using it.
Best to wait it out before putting v2019 to full use. Even if that means buying the last upgrade they claim will ever be and get the upgrade protection so when 2020 comes out, hopefully will be ready to use for daily work as it should be!
I am staying on my X7 and 2017 seats until further notice even though purchasing v2019 upgrade licenses to sit on the shelf. I cannot be used as a Guinea pig by Corel and will not pay $499 (each!) when we use to have the upgrade option of $139 to $199 option before!!!!
I did buy the protection plan, but it seems if you can't use the program then they need to extend the protection. Also I have seen the upgrade for as little as $119, I did pay the $139 plus the protection. I just installed 2019 again and had to get support because I seemed to be in a login loop. I need to check for the updates. I hadn't realized there had been any. As of yesterday 2019 is working so slow that I am waiting between strokes. The suggestion about fonts never worked. I use CorelDraw "Technical" for most of what I do. I do have 2 fonts I can change into .jpegs so I might give that a try and see if it will speed things up.
