Just upgraded to the 2019 Suite. I stick mainly to CD but on occasion I use Photopaint for some quick edits, but mainly to do knockouts using the cutout lab feature. I just pulled it up here and noticed a few things that don't seem to be working like in the previous versions.
1. NIB NOT SEEN - I can see the pointer/cursor, but I am not able to see the nib (little clear circle showing the size of the nib).
2. ZOOM NOT WORKING WITH SCROLL WHEEL ON MOUSE - The zoom seems to work fine in PhotoPaint as well as in Draw. But the only way to zoom in the Cutout Lab feature is to use the +/- icons at the top which slows my workflow down.
3. RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON NOT REMOVING DETAIL IN PREVIEW MODE - After setting up the item to be cut out, filling the space and hitting the "Preview" button in the bottom left corner, I can see the preview and can change the background color. In past versions I was able to click on the + Add Detail brush button (top right) and add to the edges where I needed to clean them up. At the same time, I could click on the right mouse button to remove or erase detail. This isn't working. To remove detail I have to click on the - Remove Detail brush and use the left mouse button. Again, technically it works but slows down workflow considerably.
Like I mentioned I just upgraded yesterday so I hit the 'Check for updates' button but didn't see any update/service packs yet.
Anyone else running in to any of these issues? Thanks!
I logged these issues with Corel back in April (ticket 5329738). After a lengthy exchange and some very strange replies from Corel Tech Support their final response was;
"The issue that you reported and which has been logged, was escalated as a program issue to our development team. Unfortunately, we haven't received an update in this case. However, if I am notified by the development team that a certain issue has been fixed, I will notify any customers with tickets regarding that particular issue." Also, hold shift and mouse drag to change the curser size does not work.
Going by some of the replies I don't think they care that the product does not work. Even when I pointed out the current user manual describes how it should work; same as other previous versions, they just thanked me with this reply;
"We are grateful for your cooperation and your time in providing us your thoughts and ideas as a customer. Your suggestions and comments will be forwarded to the *CorelDRAW* program developers here at Corel. Rest assure that every message submitted to Corel is read and given proper consideration by management."
I have gone back to using a previous Photo-Paint version and not heard any more from Corel since the above reply on April 15th 2019.
This is frustrating, I use this fairly regularly, and it needs to be corrected.
I asked Corel for an update yesturday and this is their reply.
" I sincerely apologise that we have until now, been unable to provide you with a solution for your problem, and I really understand your frustration. The issue was immediately escalated by myself and it will be investigated by our development team, but unfortunately, I have no influence as to when an issue will be fixed. But please be assured that our team take all issues seriously and it is important to us that our programs are working properly and to your satisfaction."
I got exactly the same initial reply and follow up reply word for word for a different issue. This must be a robot response. Keep hounding them, eventually you will get a human.
