I have created a lot of Blank Page templates, which only contain all the guidelines I need.ie. A three fold brochure has page guidelines for the folds, and the edges.Having used these templates over the year in various version of Corel Draw, my question for Corel Draw 2019 is this ...The template window now consists of thumbnails on the left, and an enlarged version on the right (when you select it)... but no titles on the left !!As these are blank pages, with only guidelines, all my templates only show as blank white square thumbnails.Having search everywhere I cannot find how to show the "Title" on the left thumbnail.
Has anybody else come across this, and is it possible to fix?
I often find it useful to use blank template files, and I agree that 2019 seems to make selecting such a template file more difficult.
I don't see a way to make it display titles or file names, other than selecting (as you described) or hovering the cursor and waiting for it to show information (which is slower than selecting).
I also don't see a way to deliberately browse to a folder and choose a template by filename when using "New from Template". Recent versions before 2019 had "Browse..." to do that, and I found it very useful.
Perhaps I am missing something.
FWIW, I usually add a descriptive text string to the first page of my "empty" template.Makes the thumbnail usable and it is easy to delete the text, first thing after opening the template.
Thanks Ronny, it was the only solution to this problem. At least I can see what template I am opening now.
If you prefer to start a new document from a template by directly browsing and selecting the template file by name, I wrote a VBA macro to do that: #10: Macro - "New from Template Browse".
I believe that it you place large text on the starting page of your template that may show up and allow you to find and use your templates more easily. On the left you see the 3 that I made and the right the large preview. Not an optimal situation but useable without any Macro.
