It is now July and I still do not see any new bug fixes to correct the multitude of issues with this latest design of CorelDraw 2019. I have every current update installed and am wondering if the new owners(a hedge fund) even care about quality? I know I would definitely want to have people who use my products to be able to give glowing recommendations, but with 2019 it is becoming difficult to recommend it to my peers. While there have always been issues with Corel, particularly exporting as an EPS file, for the most part, the design aspects have performed as expected. But now there are a bunch of issues that make it difficult to convert to and I find I have to continue using 2018 to get reliable production done. This is the worst upgrade I have ever purchased from Corel and they should be ashamed they released it with it being so buggy! Any news on updates would be appreciated because I feel they sold me a lemon, and worse they keep dropping the upgrade price without any fixes available which have me concerned that they don't intend to fix it.
I've gone down the rabbit hole and don't think I'm coming back. I just came back to the forum to see how people are making out.
I've been using Affinity Design and Affinity Photo software as I was so frustrated and my productivity was way down because of all the issues. I was a little doubtful because of certain features I love about CorelDRAW (I have a user since 1991). The more I work with Affinity I find those features are there and work actually better. For example, I love artboards in Affinity Design. And best of all moving my files across is dead easy. And the programs are so fast no matter the file size.
This is a slippery slope for Corel (and Adobe for that matter). I only use Corel now if I need to convert a file to move it across to Affinity.
Yeah I just heard about Affinity and I think I am going to give it a try, and it seems very affordable, and from what I read very speedy. How is the documentation which is a major concern?
Curious....do you have to print color separations? If so, how do you do that in Affinity? I did not see any color separation ability in the software. Also, the inability to use macros like you can in Corel is a giant downside for us.
I had a look, on the trial (10 days). For $49.00 its good if only to open ai files, which CorelDRAW does anyway... From the few minutes messing around I see it has some worth for the type of work that I'm doing.
However I quickly deleted Apple's OS12 assets and had to have couple of showers...before I bruise my soul. :P
