I use CorelDraw X8 at a local library and am able to import a DXF file to print my designs on a laser cutter. I got the home and student version for my daughter. I went to load in one of my designs but this 2019 Home and Student Edition does not allow dxf files to be imported. Has anyone noticed this issue? How do we correct this problem? I went to CorelDraw Help and it says that I should be able to import DXF files.

Home & Student version has some limitations.
They don't go into all of the differences in detail, but this - CorelDRAW 2019 Product Family Comparison matrix - lists DXF as one of the "pro features" not included with Home and Student.
Well that stinks. I allowed my daughter to get this version because I need do work in Pro E/Creo 3D program and Solidworks, save designs as a dxf file to convert to a cdr file and print out on a laser cutter. Do you know a work around? I might be able to make a pdf but have not tried that yet.
I have no personal experience with the Home and Student version, so I really don't know the details of what it can/cannot do.
if i remember correctly, Inkscape is able to handle import/export of DXF and CDR files. You could try that, as a converter.
