Hello everyone,
our company just have upraged from Corel X7 to CorelDraw 2019 and got this problem. When I want to export something from the page to JPEG (or even PNG etc), it takes so much time, that waiting is horrible. It takes about 5 minutes, the whole system freeze and nothing happened. Then, everything goes back to normal, I can see the preview in my preview window and finally can press OK to export it. And even then, after export, my PC is so slow, everything takes a while...it is like my computer get slapped. After a while everything is OK again, the file is exported, but this is so problematic. Imagine, I have to export several files and I have to wait about 5-7 minutes for export just one file.
Interesting thing is, when I want to import some JPEG or something, everything is OK and smooth. But when I import some scanned file, again it is too much for the system.
We had X5, we had X7 and never had one of these problems. Just started with this 2019 Corel. Do you have any experiences with this or any idea, how to fix it? Thank you so much!
My PC system: Windows Pro, 6GB RAM, CPU Intel Xeon W3530 2.80 Ghz.
Here's the thing. X7 and earlier versions operate with 32 bit OS, but v2019 operates with 64-bit OS. So maybe my system is just low-end. Maybe 6GB RAM is not enough for v2019.
Why do you believe that? On the technical specifications page it is clear, it is compatible with 32 and 64 bits. The download starts according to the operating system you have.

You're right, my fault. However, in my opinion, it something has to do with different RAM work. I'll leave it and upgrade my RAM or hardware in the future.
I agree. CorelDRAW was always a program that needs a lot of RAM, but it also needs a very large Virtual Memory (the Windows swap file). That is not documented anywhere, in fact it is something that I have been saying for years. In older versions, there was an application (CARM, Corel Application Recovery Manager) that reported when Windows had insufficient system resources or virtual memory was low....Unfortunately, most of the time it was already late.
However, by increasing virtual memory, the program is more stable and no errors appear. Many users have configured their system to start with just 16 Mb or for Windows to manage it. Whenever CorelDRAW needs more space, Windows stops the program while increasing virtual memory. What at first are fractions of a second becomes several seconds or minutes. Logically, the user thinks that the program froze, and if he tries to unlock it, the program crashes. Increasing virtual memory to at least 20 or 30 GB will give you greater stability and avoid many of the most frequent errors.
Thank you, that makes sence. I set up it to 20GB, but nothing really changed. I downloaded the latest update and still nothing. Besides, my collegue is saying, that his Corel v 2019 keep crashing down all the time. My Corel does this as well, but not as often. However, nothing new under the sun... X7 and X5 did the same thing. I have been using v 2019 for a couple of weeks now and I just can not say, it is good. I mean, c'mon, the software itself can not be so unfinished. v2019 is quite good, contains some interesthing features, but my feeling is, that it needs some serious patch or update to fix these things.
It's pretty obvious Corel has a big problem on their hands with CorelDraw 2019, 2 updates later and almost 3/4 into the 2019 year.
Giving everyone a ultimatum, NO MORE UPGRADES after v2019 (Dec 1, 2019) and need to get $99 Upgrade Protection with v2019 also, is one way to sale this non-functional software, otherwise it wouldn't have sold.
Wow.
This yearly version rush is total BS. It let's Corel off the hook for having to provide the proper updates for a proper functioning product
At their rate, the software will never be ready. It should be ready at time of first sale with minimal bugs, not major problems 3/4 into the year. You cannot get a guarantee they will provide proper updates for v2019 after the year.
Unfortunately it is not a new problem, in fact in previous versions there have also been reports of errors or problems. It is not something that nobody is proud of, certainly, nor does it minimize the problems that the current version may have.

Is this the worst version ever? Well, every time a new version comes out there are people who think it is the worst. And the same happens in the following. And in the next. And so on.
