I'm still on Windows 7 64 bit.
Just now deinstalled CorelDraw X4.
Then installed CorelDraw GS 2019.
All my CorelDraw files now appear with extension .cdr. No icon.
'Hide/Show Extension' makes no difference.
However, the files open and save perfectly.
But, there is no 'Open with' option when you right click on a file, so I can't associate the files with CorelDraw GS 2019 to get an icon.
Help appreciated!

Try a Repair of your suite installation.Run the setup program and choose "Repair" and see if it fixes itself.
Thanks Ronnie. I fixed it by going into the properties of one of the .cdr files and clicking on the ‘open with’ option in there.
Thanks for your suggestion.
That would have been my first suggestion but you wrote that "there is no 'Open with' option when you right click on a file". ;-)
