Yes, I can crash 2019 in this way, too.
If I wait for the EPS export to complete, then it doesn't crash when saving the CorelDRAW document.
Carlos Davila
Are you letting CorelDraw FINISH exporting the EPS, then save the CDR file? Or save the CDR first, then EXPORT to EPS, but wait until it finishes BEFORE doing ANYTHING ELSE as Eskimo mentions?
Reason I ask, is this problem has been posted before... the solution was to WAIT until it finishes.
But maybe you are having a different problem?
Waiting is a temporary solution or patch.
We work in a rush 99% of the time and by this time we found out that we have to wait or go back to previous versions that doesn't have this problem.Sometimes we lose a lot of work time because we usually work with 4 or 5 documents at the same time that are waiting for some detail and then for some reason we got the last detail of information of one of those jobs that are on stand by and if we make the simple mistake of saving while it is exporting or export while it is taking a long time to save, we lose everything and we have to restart everything plus open CorelDraw save what is on the backup close again CorelDraw after saving the partial backups and re open it to clear the memory and avoid a new crash.
I don't know why Corel loves to create problems on parts of their software that does not have it in previous versions.
I am not in front of any workstations with CorelDraw... but maybe you can check your settings and see if something about "background saving" is enabled or not and see what this is set at at your prior versions?
timd1971Personal message not related to the subject in this thread. Can I ask you to avoid voting posts up (or down) for no apparent reason, please?Voting seems to trigger the "new answer" function and this means that old threads with maybe hundreds of posts suddenly appear to have new comments, but there is no new information to be found. And we all know that these forums are a nightmare when it comes to finding things, and we pretty much have to go through all messages to find out what is new.Don't mean to be rude, just a friendly tip. ;-)
My Point is not to create a voting point here.
Knowing Corel for more than 20 years, I know that if we don't have a thread with a lot of people on it they will ignore it for future versions.
I believe that you will have your new CorelDraw 2020 with this issue that was created on the 2019 version.
That is why is important to add whatever extra information we can find to this thread to make atractive for them to consider it as a mistake on the 2019 version.
Agree, Ronny was just pointing somethign out about the upvotes and some sort of problem from it? Either way, yes, agree, best to make all these problems very clear (if in fact true bugs and problems)...but I really do not think Corel will do anything about it as their "yearly" cycle to fix things is obviously too short.
Now, this may or may not be a problem or bug, since others do not have the problem, so it would be best to continue diagnosing the problem. Not saying you do not have this problem, but it needs to be looked into more. Hopefully you can get it rectified, so you do not have to revert back prior versions or other options.
also, did you try my suggestion from prior post:
"I am not in front of any workstations with CorelDraw... but maybe you can check your settings and see if something about "background saving" is enabled or not and see what this is set at at your prior versions?"
X7 version shown, but similar in 2019.
One of the frustrating things here is that Corel does not communicate with the users about these types of problems.
Even if Corel personnel already know about the problem...
Even if Corel personnel have already fixed the problem for the next version of CorelDRAW...
They are not telling you.
