I want to show you a cool magic trick with this buggy software. Try to crop this image using the crop tool only in CorelDraw without any modifications and whatnot. You can't can you?
I think that the Crop tool may not work when non-destructive effects are in play.
If you flatten the non-destructive effects, then Crop can be used.
Alternately, you can "visually" crop the bitmap - without actually discarding any of the content - by dragging nodes with the Shape tool.
I'm not apologizing for CorelDRAW here; just reporting my observations.
Downsample the image from 24 bit and it crops just fine...
The non-destructive effect (Gamma) is the culprit.Removing the effect (which of course will change the appearance) or flattening as John says, or converting the image as Gordon says, will make cropping possible.
