I'm having difficulties adding an additional color node in gradient fills. Manual says I have to double click the color strip, but nothing happens besides the changes to the idle circle for about 5 seconds.

It seems to be working correctly for me.
Just to be clear that we are thinking about the same thing, here is a video where I add nodes to fountain fills (1) using the Properties docker and (2) using the "Edit Fill" dialog:
Thanks Eskimo for your reply. Yes, we're talking about the same thing. When I click onto the color strip, nothing happens besides a spinning wheel popping up for 5 seconds.
Edit: Ok, I looked further into this - apparently it has to do with my document. When I open a new document, adding new color nodes works without problems.
