Hi
I'm sure I did this once before some years ago, How do I (or can I) apply a colour blend, say red to blue, to text that runs along the curve of the text - from end to end, as shown
Many thanks
Here's a recent thread that discusses something like that:
Blending color along an irregular shape.
Yes, I saw that. Trouble is the method doesn't work exactly. (below) I've tried both blended circles and rectangles with very varying results (below). I was hoping there was a way of retaining the font itself as you do with standard gradient fills.
Thanks again.
I think that one could get the desired appearance by using the "blended circles fitted to a path", then PowerClipping that into the letter.
Getting something that is more automatic and/or more of a "live" effect - I don't know. I guess that one could create a pattern fill (e.g., based on the blended circles approach), and then apply that to just that one text character, and in such a way "keep the text as text". I think that would still require creating essentially a "bespoke" pattern fill for each character.
Thank you Eskimo.
The power clipping worked. It was a bit hit and miss and quite laborious - as you said, each character had to be treated separately, and the blend heavily manipulated to 'fill' the text but it worked in the end.
Thank you again.
great
