Just curious, and to be clear I don't represent the Corel company. But did you purchase the subscription-based suite? I believe as long as you are paying your subscription you can update any time you want.I personally prefer to own the release. This likely stems from my desire for consistency and my fear that something could go wrong with a subscription-based solution. However, if you are like me and purchased the 2019 software, yes you are "stuck" with it until you purchase a newer version update. I have heard good things about the new 2021 release, for instance I understand they have rebuilt the tracing feature from the ground up. That may be worth a look. but CorelDraw2019 is still a very capable version.
Thank you Tyson, I guess I will stick with 2019 as long as it keeps serving my needs. Cost of a subscription versus the normal update routine of days past is rather absurd in my estimation.
When subscribing, the biggest and undeniable advantage is relying on a constantly updated program. When CorelDRAW develops a newer version, many times unresolved issues in older versions will remain that way. The sad thing is, the only way to have these issues resolved are to find the solutions in newer versions. But since you're subscribed, you can always return to the older version if you don't like the new one. Many program grand names are turning to this solution. Adobe, Microsoft, and many others...It's a solution of "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"
