I run CorelDraw 2019 and we just purchased an HP Color LaserJet M751. I have installed the PS driver HP provides, but am unable to print in halftones. We had used an HP LaserJet 5100 and that worked fine. I know there is a setting either on the printer or in Corel to allow the app to control postscript. Any help?
Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
HP started using a driver that is a PS emulator and is not compatible you my need to try a universal driver from HP.
way back in the day we would convert the image to Black & White bitmap and use the LPI to set the halftone, would that be a good workaround for you?
I was having the same issues with my LaserJet M712 (I too just replaced my 5100). Finally found the answer....or I should say file. In your printing window, under the General tab, just to the right of the Orientation drop down is a check box that says Use PPD. Check this box. Locate your PPD file on your hard drive. You can find the exact file name for your printer in the Windows Printer Settings menu, in your printer properties box under the About tab. Mine was the first file in the Driver File window. Once I used the PPD file, I was able to set my line screen (and the printer did not ignore it!) Hope this helps!
We ended up returning the M751 color and purchased the black and white M712. The universal PS driver did not work with that either, but when I assigned the old 5100 PS driver to the M712, it worked perfectly and we don't need to use the PPD option,
