I'm having trouble saving a file to PDF. The page size is 288"x36" and when I save it as a PDF and open it in Acrobat, the size comes in as 200"x36" with an error that says the page is out of range. This issue just started happening. Can anyone help me with this issue?
There is a document size limitation in the PDF specification at 200" (5.080 mm). Many (most?) apps can go beyond this limit but Reader doesn't accept more than 200", that's why.If you reimport into Draw, you can still se the whole drawing area.
Are you sure the limit is 200"? I've tried saving PDF files from CorelDRAW at around 150" page sizes and ended up with a PDF document containing zero objects. I end up having to save at something like a 25% or 50% scale and then multiply it back up to full size in the target program (usually RIP software for large format printing).
I've done thousands of largr PDF files 200 inches or right around there is the limit.
I know that AI supposedly now supports larger pages but I do not know if a newer size specification exists for Acrobat. AI performance with large files in the past has been awful so I'd like to see what it's like with a 150 foot by 150 foot file.
As many RIPS use Acrobat and a plug-in for the RIP process many RIPS do not support over sized PDF files.
Would it have worked if I would have changed the size from inches to feet? Instead of 288" x 36", change it to be 24ft x 3ft.
