You would think they would know I bought the tool. While putting in ads like this may be mainstream for Windows folks, I find this highly annoying on the Mac and quite frankly I think this behaviour needs to be avoided at all costs and I'm not sure this complies with some of Apple's guidelines. I'm surprised Corel has done this (well maybe not), but I'm surprised that it keeps appearing.
I don't use a Mac, but I will assume the menu layouts are similar to Windows version of CD
Go to Help->Message Settings
Then check/uncheck and select frequency option.
This is so offensive that I will never again buy Corel Draw. I've recommended it for years, and required that employers buy it more than once. No more.
I was trying the new Mac version, to see if it's usable (unlike past Mac versions, which were so defective that they were pulled off the market). Now I'm hounded by a GODDAMNED POP-UP AD?
I did not authorize the installation of an ad daemon on my machine, jagoffs.
I'll limp along with Affinity Designer from now on.
For those who want to delete this adware, I found it in /Library/Preferences/com.corel.CUH/CUH.app/Contents/MacOS/CUH
Not in ~/Library/...
Its not under Help, but under the app's title/generic menu, where the About options are, etc. However, even with everything unchecked, you still get messages... Thanks for nothing Corel. I bought CorelDraw for specific functionality, but never again. They've lost a customer over this.
The problem with this is that CUH stands for Corel Update Helper, so deleting it may mean not getting updates (though how many have there been for the Mac version?)
For those on Mac Big Sur:
sudo spctl --add --label "DeniedApps" /Library/Preferences/com.corel.CUH/CUH.app/Contents/MacOS/CUH
sudo spctl --disable --label "DeniedApps"
