I just bought CorelDraw2020 since I had so many problems with 2019. And it's crashing all the time! I'm doing normal actions - selecting, using the shape tool, on standard .cdr files. I try to save all the time, but I can't save every 10 seconds, and I keep losing a few minutes of work with every crash (not to mention restarting the program and opening all my files.) What is going on?
To clarify: first the program freezes, then it just closes.
That sounds beyond a problem is the software. Better list your machine details.
Have a look in the windows event viewer and see what has red flags.
If I was guessing, I'd say you have a memory issue. So test that and run it out or in as a possibility. The Windows tool is useless.
Use... https://www.memtest.org that's free.
Delete temp files
Then do windows check disk
What you have got is beyond a software bug. But in any case you have to rule out any hardware error before you can be sure what any other problem might be.
From the desktop, press the Win+X hotkey combination and from the menu select Command Prompt (Admin).

You cannot just make a bland statement like that without knowing for sure. It is obvious that Corel releases new editions with bugs.
My question to yo72 is, does this happen to every cdr file that you work on or only some of them?
The problem he lists shouldn't happen with any CorelDRAW file. So the obvious thing to do first is to check system specs.
