I no longer am able to view thumbnails for almost any of my Corel files, new or old. I think files from a very old versions are viewable, but not from Graphic Suite 2020 or from my previous version 19.0 (2017). I've done all the Windows stuff, making sure the right things are checked in preferences (ie that the "show icons only" box isn't checked), and I'm able to view thumbnails for other file types. Is there a fix for this, as I'm wasting a lot of time having to open files to see if they're what I need.
First fix step -go to Control Panel ->Programs and features.
Uninstall Windows Shell Extension
Select CGS 2020 -> modify/uninstall -> repair
Thank you, but it didn't help... (BTW it's now called Apps and features in the Control Panel)
Any other ideas? Does anyone know of a third party thumbnail viewer I could install?
Now check your file associations. In explorer right click on a .cdr file and see what the default is set to. If its anything other than CorelDraw2020 change it.
Now I do have to state that the Corel Shell Ext is P.O.S software and has been since the version it was introduced. Every new version people have exactly the same problems as you have had, myself included.
In the end we went to Program Files... Corel... Corel 2020... setup. From there we searched for the shell extension, and then reinstalled the shell extension. And then rebooted.

And, hurray! I have my thumbnails back. Thank you everyone for your help.
