Hello,
Since Corel Draw 2020 I have problems aligning objects with guidelines. Instead of the outer edge of an object, the guide line snaps an inner line within the object. I didn't have that problem before in X8.
What kind of object is it?Normally, it should snap to vector nodes and segments, and bitmap edges. This means that if the object has an outline it doesn't snap to it, instead it snaps to the vector segment.
This object have all of that and it is true. It snap to a vector instead of snap to the outline. In X8 it works perfectly for me. Why had Corel change this and how can I change it back to my prefer?
Are you sure it worked differently?I don't have X8 installed any more so I cannot check, but I found X4 on one of my old computers and it doesn't snap to outlines there either, and I cannot remember it ever has.Can you show a screenshot or something to make sure I haven't misunderstood
I checked both versions again. In both versions I tested with the same object, an object thats a group of several objects.
In the 2020 version it was now possible snapping the object to the guide lines by moving the outline (curve) to the top.
Interestingly, this is not necessary in X8 (and previous versions). It doesn't matter whether I grouped the object or not and in which order the group of objects are. It snaps always to the outline.
I suspect you are not talking about outlines the way I do, or the way an outline is defined in Draw. :-)What you are saying, I think, is that not all objects in a selection snap to a guideline, unless they are grouped first.I have a vague memory that there may have been such a bug, at some time, but it seems to work here.Have you installed the update for Draw 2020?
