Hi there, I have just updated to the subscription v2022. And I'm finding it keeps crashing on me. I have experienced crashing in the past on v2020 because it hasn't liked the fonts. But this is crashing for no reason I can see. Is this happening to others of just me - tempted to go back to v2020
I messaged Corel help.
They said two issues, Windows 10 needs some updates and my printer drivers needed updating. I have updated the printer driver but still having issues such as missing elements on the printed page or just not spooling or printing. If I bitmapped the whole page before printing it prints okay. Not sure if it is a font issue with the printer.
This is from Corel help - you may understand it with your background.
Reason is that since 2020, Microsoft has changed Windows 10 and crashes as you describe are caused by the mismatch of hardware and Windows.
Since Windows 10 2004/20H2, I noticed that customers have got issues if their hardware was made before 2016 the required system updates are no longer offered. Without these hardware updates (in particular the BIOS and drivers), Windows 10 2004/20H2 won't work properly. kernelbase.dll, combase.dll and uctrbase.dll crashes affect all programs not just our software are typical for old hardware that is no longer supported by Windows 10 2004/20H2.
I have no issue with any other software that I use.
My files are freezing to and crashing and then not opening.
Interesting. I have no printer, my Windows 10 is up to date, but my hardware is indeed older than 2016. If I ever need anything print, I export my CDR to PNG or PDF first and went to printing shop, so I never came across issue with printing for many years now, and never thought that it was related to crashing we have right now.
I'm upgrading my PC this month and will upgrade my Windows to 11. Let's see if the problem is really solved with new hardware running new OS.
Will be interesting to see if Windows 11 fixes the issues.
If your hardware is older you should not upgrade it to Windows 11.
My current hardware is not even upgradable to begin with, so I take this chance to finally upgrade it. If program still crash then I can cross out that it is not due to my old hardware or my OS.
