If you use the outline color do not upgrade. This function crashes 50% of the time. When it does crash it takes down the whole application. I have tested on multiple systems with multiple GPS's and CPUs configs and it does the same thing on every system. Also have tried reinstalling, clean reinstalling, and repairing and nothing seems to fix the issue. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've had hardly any crashes (a couple of freeze ups which I guess are about the same). Not sure what you mean with outline color, as I've used colored outlines around both objects and text without any problems...
Like I said, change line thick or color and about every fifth time I get the blue wheel of death and then the program disappears. Does not lock up the machine, prog just crashes. There are other post on here with people having the same problem. ryzen 9 with a nvidia 3060gpu.
In my line of work I do this ALL THE TIME and large complicated drawings. I change the line thickness from hairline up to 15mm and change the color multiple times.
You post problems and give no details of the machine you're using. What Ryzen 9 do you have by the way? When you say Ryzen 9 that's the same as say i7...which one? Seems Ryzen 9 5900x has problems crashing for no apparent reason...just sitting doing nothing, crash.
Yep here we go again.....2 machines a 3900x and 3700x. Click eyedropper in the line selection tool and the machines crash. Pretty simple. Corel 2017 works fine doing the same task. I would go back to that but now have convert files back to 2017.
CorelDraw 2017 is not as resource intensive as 2021. What version of Windows are you using? X7 was happy on Win7 while 2020 and 2021 are not. If you're running Win7 this could be a problem. Also if you ARE using Win 10 have you configured windows to use your graphics card? Its an easy thing to miss and you will have issues.
I have an old HP Pavilion 15-au018wm i7-6500U (2cores) 2.5 GHz, 12 GB DDR4 RAM, and NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX (2 GB DDR3 dedicated).
I have no problems running 2017 but 2020 it was lagging a bit and 2021 forget it. Stretching a line the lag was terrible with excessive scrolling. Totally unusable with 2021 and marginally ok with 2020, and if I pushed it too much it would crash. Its not the fault of CorelDRAW its the PC.
I use it to run X7 only because the plotter / cutter driver is not compatible with anything above X7.
On my old DELL 9020 with i74790 (4 physical cores / 8 virtual) 3.95GHz, 32GB DDR3 ram and NVidia GeForce 1030 2GB CorelDRAW 2021 is smooth as silk and responsive, very quick no lags. If however I didn't have 2021 configured to use my graphics card the performance suffers.
Thanks for the input. I believe I have the GPU configured. Under tools/global the GPU is shown and and all the check box are checked. I am running win10.
